Cotrimoxazole - a lifesaving antibiotic

The USAID-supported Kenya Pharma project assists the government of Kenya to provide HIV-prevention, care and treatment services by ensuring an uninterrupted supply of quality medical commodities.

According to the latest guidelines from the WHO and the Government of Kenya, all HIV positive individuals should have access to Co-trimoxazole prophylaxis for opportunistic infections. In response to this change in policy, Kenya Pharma has worked with suppliers both inside and outside Kenya to increase stocks of this vital commodity.

Being an approved supplier to USAID, Missionpharma has supplied 180 million Co-trimoxazole tablets to Kenya in connection with this project. In order to reduce lead times and make the product available as early as possible, Missionpharma supplied products already registered by Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) of Kenya from a range of our prequalified manufacturers.

Significant stocks of Co-trimoxazole has been built up in Kenya to make sure that every patient has access to this life-saving commodity.
